Honest Scrap Award

I was given this award by ScrapperMaya @ Princess Scrapper. I am honoured coz I am not a scrapper, at least not yet. Still learning from Maya and some other talented scrappers online ;)

Thanks Maya!! :)

The rules that go with this lovely award are to:
1) Thank the person who gave it to you.
2) List 10 honest things about yourself.
3) Pass the award on to 7 people.

10 honest things about me .. So here goes!

1) I can't live without my family and of course my other half, Sharul :)

2) I can't swim but have experienced snorkeling twice, and fallen in the sea 3 times when riding on banana boat and jet ski :P

3) I can't fall asleep without very very cold temperature in my room :)

4) I can't see the fun in facebook-ing, unbelievable but true (yikes!)

5) I hate snakes! I used to have nightmares of snakes. It scared the hell out of me!!

6) I'm super scared of dying: I seldom pray that I'd die in a car crash than having to suffer or bedridden for a very long time (creepy, I know!)

7) I can't handle work and peer pressures: I'd wonder like hell whether I'd done something super wrong or not (yep, I'm a freak!)

8) I'm a moody bitch .. You'd find me fun but boring the next minute! Lol!!

9) I just found out that I have talents in scrapping, decorating and photo-taking. I am just not ready to be too involved in any of them or maybe I am just not confident enough. Sad but true!

10) I am on a diet and losing some weight but when I lost too much weight in such short time, it worries me too much that I end up forgetting about dieting! Hmmph!! Bad habit!!

I don't have many scrapper friends except Maya, Hazel and Renee. Since Maya has tagged Renee, so I am gonna pass this award to Hazel, who is also an honest scrapper I knew of :)

Finally it's over..

Well, this should be posted last Sunday but I was sooooooo tired that I didn't go online at all, till now.

The wedding went on well and we got to the bride's on schedule: she wasn't on the aisle yet when we got there hehehe :P and my brother whispered to me before entering the Songket Ballroom saying, "Am dizzy after that 7 rounds!" LOL!!

The bride was beautiful and of course, our brother was handsome with their white songket wedding attires. There was yet another drama the night before the wedding: my brother's wedding suit was too small for him!! Luckily he tried it on that night! Imagine IF he didn't! He spent the night at the tailor's (we assumed) while having his fingers with henna, which was supposed to be done at home *sigh*

Despite all these, the wedding was beautiful! My brother walked along the red carpet to the stage where Diana was waiting with her glitterish gown and tiara. After the 3 times 'salawat', our dad gave his blessing to the couple, followed with our mom. Then, mom put on a set of gold accessories on the bride while me and my sisters were observing. Next, the couple cut the 3 layered cake (or four?). Of course, next we had our photo sessions, something we're expert in ;)

So, now it's over. Alhamdulillah. I have no energy left still peeps! Am charging it now *phew!*

Though we're extremely exhausted, we're tremendously happy that it went smooth as we prayed it'd be. Alhamdulillah :)

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the groom! It's his birthday today. I pray for his health, happiness and endless marriage aamiiinnn :)

PS: I'll upload the wedding pictures I snapped soon :)

Abo's berbedak ceremony

26.06.2009 marked the ceremony of our brother's 'berbedak ceremony', one of the many ceremonies in Brunei Malay weddings. 7 colours of powder is sprinkled on the groom's palms ended with the 'bunga rampai' of scented flowers and pandan leaves. The elders are then given the 'bunga telur' to symbolize the prayer for the couple's endless marital relationship and growing size of family kins.

As usual, the families have great time celebrating the weddings. It's the Ahmads' first wedding. The 'bersanding ceremony' will take place tomorrow at the Rizqun Hotel.

Enjoy the pictures! :)

~~ The evening gathering~~

'Berlulur' ceremony: this makes the groom's skin smooth and fairer for the big day :)
According to our culture, the remaining of the groom's 'lulur' powder is mixed with the bride's and keep in a small bag to be thrown away to the sea. Unique eyh :)
Bingo a.k.a. lotto in the living room ...
... karaoke-ing outside the house ...
... and supper in between :)
A crazy night indeed! See my panda eyes!! Huhu~~

My 1-month Fridays attempts

As I mentioned in my previous entries, my Fridays last month were booked on decorating the hantarans for my brother's wedding: both from the groom and bride sides. The bride herself did lend a hand so the hantarans from us were not a surprise for her at all, except for the Quran and Sirih Junjung which I did a day before the Nikah Ceremony.

I got compliments from the families and neighbours but I have doubt that the hantarans I made were pretty enough. After all, it's my first few attempts. Well, at least the couple saves a few bucks for not paying the experts making them the hantarans ;)

Enjoy the pictures guys! Now I am really going to bed!! *yawn*
